Author Posts September 29, 2003 at 6:07 pm #37029 eniced33 I want to finish my basement. I have 2 floor drains – one directly in the area where I want my main entertainment area. Is it ok to cap this drain and concrete over it? I can always break the concrete away if need be? September 29, 2003 at 8:55 pm #184214 plumber Tom The trap will eventually dry out, and may be an invitation to bugs and sewer gas. If you want to do away with the drain altogether, cap the drain line after the trap. For such kind of suggestions, i must have to call drain cleaning expert but that work has been done by you.
