I must mention that many areas have codes about what your trying to do. There should be some room for the fixture to dissapate heat. Be especially carefull if the cieling above the cropped cieling is flamable, hmm let me rephrase that, if its flamable DONT DO IT. Contact the manufacturer of the fixture at the very least.. see what they say about it. You may end up having to buy a slimmer model, or some alternative. A lighting rep on the web or your local electrical supply house would be able to tell you about whast available. Good luck.
