shellac, spar varnish, SOMETHING to block the pine oils from bleeding through the paint. One or two coats of Kilz or some other name brand primer/sealer will block the oils.
Lightly sand the table, apply the sealer per the directions, add a second coat as directed, and then repaint the table the next day. It should be good for many years.
