Steadiness of the flame is important. If the flame is so 'lazy' that it floats away from the thermocoouple it requires adjustment. The pressure and flow may be 'borderline' and require adjustment. This can only be guessed at from a distance and can be adjusted properly by an experienced technician-plumber.
