some wings of a good sturdy material that will give support to the AC and still give you some security.

What would you think of putting the AC on one side of the window so that the left wing will go to the side and then build a right side wing to close off the area?

Use a good strong material that you can clamp down the window to and will both add some security and a sealant too. Consider Masonite with reinforcement on the inside.

Cannot think of any other idea in this case. I would also be sure to build some exterior AC braces for this unit.
