Hello Joe, The wood stove should have come with instruction and clearances from combustibles chart. If you do not have this info (this is a used stove??) look on the stove itself. Most UL listed items have a label that states how far the stove should be away from combustibles The NFPA 211 code states that the stove should be 36" away from combustibles and vertical pipe should be 18".If you want more info check out www.chimneys.com or www.NCSG.org.
