i`ve seen this install done with many types of wood floors in the vail and surrounding areas. have never heard of any problems. i do know the the wood should be properly aclimiatized to the house with the heating system in operation for a given time period-approx. two weeks in the mountians. the moisture content of the subfloor should be about the same as the wood.i was told 4 to 6% by one company out of denver. if laid over concrete its a whole other process. i`d think with the low humidity characteristic to these areas that a wood floor would hold together great. thats more than you asked for. hope it helps. p.s. sounds like someone wants to sell you a product.
