wood floor

Okay, I'm a poor guy with posh tastes. Here's what I'd like to do and need some help with the particulars. I've got an OSB subfloor that I want to make look like an old English manor floor. I'm planning to use 8' x 8" sheets of 3/8" veneered plywood, distressed and stained, aged and layered with dirty varnish (i work in theatre so I'm realy good at this). That asside, what would be the best way for me to attach the sheets of ply to the OSB subfloor? Should I glue the whole thing? Can I get away with a little glue and some black, wide headed nails, or even carpet tacks? I'm alone, so there won't be much traffic on this surface, and I can do almost 1200 square feet for less than 500 dollars. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance :o)
