Wood doorway frames

Posted by L Reid on August 9th, 2000 05:50 AM

the bottom of the exterior doorway wood frames have deteriorated and those still in good shape are exsorbing water when it rains. So the inside carpets are getting wet.
1. Do I need to replace the entire side of the wood frame that is damaged? Or can I patch in wood or is epoxy a choice?
2. To protect in the future....I read about using aluminum formed to frame w/a sealant to protect the bottom that the best method in the new england climate?
