In reply to my opinion, for a ceiling fan light fixture, you can safely do without the ground wire by LJ in TX on August 18th, 2002 07:24 AM [Go to top of thread]

I'll go with LJ on this but to be on the safe side attach the ground wire to the celing electrical box. The BX that the wire is in,is usually moounted to the box and that is grounded back to the electrical panel.
