wirering a power humidifier to the furnace

Posted by Pat on November 25th, 2001 01:38 PM

I have installed a do it yourself power humidifier that comes with a 24v plug in adapter.

The problem is, that there isn't an outlet nearby in which to plug into.

my question is this...Can I cut the wires from the adapter and just attach them to two of the low voltage junction terminals on the furnace that are 24v.

I have 5 teminals marked R W Y G T

with the furnace on and the blower running I put my tester on the W and Y or the W and G I get a reading of 24v.

Does this all make sence to anyone out there,If so ,your input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance
