I firmly believe in low maintenance/low I'm not cheap, just practical. Why go to all the trouble, time, expense of trying to paint something that will peel/flake/wear, or glue down carpet that will hold mold spores and dust mites and can be pretty costly, or glue down tile/linoleum that will bubble and peel up? My solution...put down a good sealer on the floor, find a good remnant left over from an industrial installation (probably for less than $150), have the edges bound. Keep it as long as it stays clean and without mold (about 3-4 years) and then toss it out and replace it. Average cost is $50/year. Why go to such an extreme expense for all the other options?
