Stacie, Was "Whink" one of the products you tried? I've found this to work consistenly well for many rust stains. As this sounds like it has been there a while, you may need to apply it onto the area and let it set a few times, but I feel it does the best job of anything I've found.

Whink contains hydroflouric acid, so be sure you wear gloves when using it. Available at most hardware/drug/grocery stores.
