If it's a standard 3/4" floor (which is the type you can possibly re-use), get a nail tap to push the nails AT LEAST through-and-past the tongue (further is good), then pull up the strip. I've heard of some folks using a trim-pry-bar to lift the wood slightly, then cut the nail/staple with a hacksaw blade. (Shoot yourself.)
