what should I set my tub in with?

Posted by SJC on September 23rd, 2001 01:16 PM

I'll try to be specific. We are remodeling our bathroom and bought a corner jacuzzi tub. What is best to set it in place with? A basic plumbing book we have says we can use expanding foam. This sounds the easiest because we can hook up the plumbing first and then still make minor adjustments in the location of the tub before we shoot in the foam. Otherwise, because of where the pipes come up from the floor, it will be very tight working with the pipes after the tub is set. BUT, we have some "Great Stuff" triple exanding foam and on the can it says "not recommended for ... under tub surrounds."
Does this mean my situation or should I use the minimun expanding foam or just use mortar or concrete or something else? Thanks in advance for all your input!
