I'll spare you the drama (ha-ha) ...

Anyway, like Steve says, re-check the wire connections. Remove them then re-connect them. DO turn the power off at the breaker. A quick check of your connections is to lightly 'tug' on your wires that are secured in the wire-caps. If any of them are 'loose', you may have found your problem. Check them all.

What do you do if you lose the remote? Hopefully, you can manually over-ride it! Or, if you simply misplace it, is there a 'locator bell' like they have on some cordless phones that allow you to tramsmit from the 'base' so you can find it? If either of these questions have an 'uh' in them, get a fan that works 'the old fashioned way'.
