Oriented Strand Board is a plywood alternative sheet product made from flaked wood (either hardewood and softwood varieties) and bonded by phenol formaldehyde resins under high temperature and pressure. Because it does not require large trees for veneer peeling, it is very economical to make but retains most of the structural advantages of plywood.
