I have a new addition with a walkup attic. It has a 10pitch on the roof and is insulated with r-30 batts on the roof slope up to and across a 4ft wide ceiling app. 8ft from the floor. The attic is unheated with insulation on the ceiling below. The roof has a ridge vent with a filter/mesh type material for the venting. There are styrofoam air baffles in eash bay from the soffit to just above the ceiling. Here's my problem. There is significant moisture between the insulation and the styrofoam baffle to the point that is seeps through the insulation and puddles on the floor. Every bay both sides of the roof in soaken wet. The plywood on the inside of the roof in moist from all of the moisture present but the inside of the baffle facing the roof in dry, only the outside of the baffle facing the insulation is wet. So, condensation from the nail heads seems unlikely. Any suggestions?
