Your water table probably has risen this year. The ground beening saturated and no where else to go so it chose your basement.
You will probably need to do divert the roof leaders away from you house as well as install a new drainage system to divert the water away from the house even if it means installing a sumppump system. Make sure that you dig down below the bottom of the foundation and install the drainage piping. Never put your roof leader drain into this piping system, keep them seperate. Get several estimates and remember the cheapest is not always the best. Contractor should be licensed by the city and the state. Also you can call a toll free number in the state your in and check out the contractors license to see if he has had problems that are unresolved.
