you need to mount your floor plate and then develope the structure or frame to hold the wall board.

Go to Home Depot and buy their hard back bound how to book for detailed instructions on this project. There they will show you by way of pictures and hints on how to build the frame, then how to space the studs and to mount the floor and ceiling plates and then the mounting of the rock and the tape and bedding work.

This picture how to would be much easier than to do this via words on this site.

But, based on your skill level, this should not be that big of a project.

You will need a circular saw, square, something to fasten the sole plate to the flooring, tape measurer, box knife, tape and bedding tools, step ladder and texture and paint.
