you know, it just depends on how dirty and worn it is and if you do want to lug all that equipment up stairs.

Wood flooring has a finish coating that is like clear coat. it does protect the finish and the wood from all sorts of spills. When the finish coat wears off, it is pretty hard to clean it and make it last.

you can try things like lemon oil, and furniture with penetrating oils, or you can check out Formby's wood cleaners. His stuff is just great.

your cleaning project is only a bandaid to the enevietable.
