Welding PVC

Actually, the glue does not melt the two plastics together. The primer melts a small amount of the surface of the plastic, and the glue takes advantage of the tacky surface to bond. It becomes a permanent joint, but it can be disconnected with heat. If you use the glue without a primer on PVC, its only glue holding it together, which can be separated with a vibration or a tool.
