The studs fit into a track (called c-channel). Fasten at top and bottom with a 7/16 inch panhead drywall screw. Attach drywall with #6 1-1/4 inch fine thread drywall screws. Cut the studs about 1/4 inch short. Cut the same end of all studs. That is, orient the cutouts the same way and always cut the top of the stud. This isn't critical, though. Orient the studs the same direction.

Tools needed: aviator tin snips, small channel-lock c-clamp, tape measure.
