We have spent 14,000 dollars waterproffing the outside of our house. The city made us put in a sump pump at this time. When the people were digging to install the pump they said there is a lot of water under the house and do not know where it is coming from. We have noticed a lot of hair line cracks in our basement floor lately. How do we go about finding where the water is coming from under the house. We have several cracks in the basement walls but they have been there for a long time. We need to fix this problem soon and can not afford to keep putting this kind of money into the basement. The walls have stopped leaking since they did the outside work. When we built our garage 7 yrs. ago they put in a dry well to take the water off of the garage, could this be going up under the house now? When it rains heavy the dry well does back up into our drive way thru the drain. Please help! We notice that the sump pump does run even sometimes when it is not raining. Thanks, Judy
