water treatment

Posted by Robert S. Snyder on August 10th, 1999 12:09 AM

I am overwhelmed with the information and sales pitches regarding water softeners from various companies. It is very important that I get a water softener that can handle 1.5ppm of clear water iron, 30 grains of hardeness, and about 310ppm of others as well as doing the softening thing. I am on well water. It is extremely important that I get a water softener that has a good track record as far as repairs, etc. I've looked at Sears, Culligan, WaterBoss and many inbetween those two. Does anyone have any information about where I can obtain reliable information that compares these various water softeners?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
