Water softener

Posted by Sherry Saunders on March 26th, 2000 06:09 PM

We have a water softener from Sears which was installed about 2 years ago. We use potassium instead of salt to soften the water. We have discovered over a foot of solid potassium in the bottom of the tank and don't know how to get rid of it other than trying to chip it away. Also, we don't know how to avoid this happening in the future. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
