water pump wiring

Posted by Richard on June 6th, 2001 09:38 PM

I have questions re: wiring for a submersible pump for water well. Apparently, the pump is 2hp, 4" motor, 230 volts, 1 phase. Three questions:
1) would 10-3 UF wire be sufficient to run from main panel all the way to pump (crawl space through house wall then underground - 110 feet total)?
2) OR, should I use conduit underground and switch to jacketed wire (jx box) in the crawl space up to main panel?
3) would twin 30 amp breakers be sufficient or overkill?
