Water Based Poly ...

Posted by Jay J -Moderator on April 1st, 2001 10:11 PM

HI Susan,

Use a water-based Poly. There aren't any harmful fumes and a few coats can be put on in one day too. Water based Poly will look a little 'milky' when it's dry vs. oil based Poly. No matter - Your health is more important.

Don't misunderstand my last bit of 'advice': Please, don't wait until the 11th hour to get some help. Since it IS your health we're talking about, you may want to consider postponing the rest of the job until you have some hard, fast answers to your 'concerns'. Just my thoughts.

My best to ya and hope this helps.

PS: Yes, it's possible you didn't know that there are 2 'types' of finishes (oil and water based.) Sorry ...
