Do you have a sump pump system? If so, is it running a lot? Are the basement walls poured, or concrete block?

The water could be coming from the holes (made from previous termite treatment, if this is the same person as posted earlier under different name), but no matter the holes, it means you have a fair amount of water sitting around the basement right now which is not be removed by the sump (again...if you have one).

The water in the middle may have come from the sides, and puddled in the lowest area. You might have cracks in the basement walls, but first leave the carpeting rolled back so you can observe where the water is coming from; the holes or out from under the finished walls.
