the obvious first advice is: test a spot which you cannot see...

- take any inexpensive white latex paint
- take a terry rag (have lots on hand)
- have a second set of hands as you
don't want to stop this job half way through..
- dip rag in paint bucket and rub it on.
- let dry for 2 or 4 days depending on humidity.
- coat with 2 coats of water-base poly. do not
use oil.. water is more expensive but advised.

It will look very kewl...
