I replaced the timer on my washing machine because the shaft began to spin without turning the mechanism.
The new timer/shaft turns properly but now the washer doesn't move onto the drain cycle. This seems completely unrelated to replacing the timer.
To see if I was shipped a defective timer I re-installed the old timer and the washer didn't move onto the drain cycle using the old timer either!
What have I done that would cause the washer to stop functioning?
