Warmfloors - anyone with firsthand experience?

Posted by Dave on December 14th, 2000 08:02 AM

I checked out the website for warmfloors - I'm interested in installing the heated mat under tile.

The instructions on the web site are not very detailed. Has anyone been through an installation? How did it go? Can you give a brief description of the installation process in your own words?

I'm especially curious about the adhesion of the subfloor, the mat and the tile. I would guess that it's: cement board, some kind of adhesive, mat, mortar, tile. But I'm not clear on it.

Also, the electrical connections are not totally clear. Do you just install a GFCI breaker (110V) and run sheathed electrical cable to a junction where the mat is hardwired in (via thermostat) ?

Please share your experiences -
