one thing you can consider is adding a radiant heat
system to your project, you can use a under carpet
system that you install on the pad, this is only a warming
system. you could install a heat mat direct on the
concrete and thinset it in place. if your pad and carpet
is over 1 1/4 thick your R-Value will be almost 5.
if your going to add 2x4s on the slab you can use a between
the joist heating system and you can use most any kind
of flooring. this type of system is electric, if you
