we are having a new home built, but the exterior walls are not solid wood. There is wood and then a strip of insulation. Is this as sturdy as an all wooden wall, and do you believe the life expectancy of the home is hindered by this? Does this type of construction result in a better insulated home, or is it merely done this way to cut expenses? Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you for your opinion.
