Wallpaper removal

Help, I'm a newbie at this. We have ugly wallpaper in the bathroom that we want to remove. We used a tiger to score and dif solution to moisten. Help!!! The paper came of (in some places good, and in more places not so good), I have several areas that are brown where it looks like scrapped cardboard. Any suggestions as to what to do? Also, I want to replace the towel rack (etc) how do I fill in the holes left by old ones?
