I can completely relate to being overwhelmed with wallpaper. I tried steaming. It failed. Try scoring the walls with a paper tiger. Then use a garden or lawn sprayer to spray DIF with a small amount of very warm water. For example for a gallon of DIF use 1/3 water. Drench the walls as soon as you spray a section start peeling. I can't believe how easy it was. It is time consuming anytime you are peeling wall paper but this is the easiest technique I have come across. Please keep in mind I am not an expert. I am simply a new home owner who found a simpler way. I hope this helps you.
