Here is the end all solution to remove paper from walls. I am now a certified expert in this area...

Anyway, go buy one of those 1 gal. pestiside sprayers and about 3 gal. of vinigar per room you are doing. In sprayer, mix 2 parts boiling hot water with 1 part vinigar. (1 to one if really bad) Score the walls and spray away. real easy to do. lap around room spraying walls with 2 coats. Now wait 7 minutes and do again. Now wait another 15-20 minutes and soak again. Trick is to keep wet at all times. Use plasic scrappers to help peal paper off. As soon as you see bare wall, wipe with wet towel to wash away glue.

Vinigar may smell, but no chemicals are used and the cost is faily low....... Oh yea, did I mention that this always seems to work in any situation.
