I am doing a large bedroom including ceilings. I bought a steamer from Lowes made by Porter Wagner. Only around $60.00. Well worth the price. First I score the paper and then use the stripper. I spray it on with a garden sprayer. Wait 15 min. then use the steamer. It comes off easily in one large strip. Next Wipe the wall down with a sponge dipped in stripper. This soften up the remaining paper and takes off the residue from the paste. On this job, the original drywall was to be covered with paper when they put this addition on 15 yrs. ago so I have to work on the walls before I can paint them. So far it's going fine so you might try this method. I don't know how much it is to rent a steamer like Mark said But for $60.00 I own one for the future. Good Luck,Ron J.
