wall drain toilets?

Posted by Lana on December 4th, 2002 07:12 AM

Does anyone make a toilet which drains from a back wall drain rather than a straight down floor drain? I am in the planning stages of splitting a bedroom in an old house into 2 baths. I will have to construct an interior wall and put some of the plumbing on that wall but the toilet poses a problem. The ceiling is only about 8 1/2 feet and if I rip up some of the floor and have the toilet drain put in it then I know that it will be noisy downstairs. I have looked at the wall hung type toilets and it seems to be a better idea but I was wondering if someone makes one that actually sits on the floor like a standard toilet but drains back through the wall? If so what kind of a slope would the drain need? Thanks
