In reply to Can anyone give me some info on how to install WAINSCOATING? by Kimberly Browne on April 20th, 2000 11:21 AM [Go to top of thread]

I just finished putting in Wainscoting in my
powder room. Before I can give any advice I would
Like to ask a few questions. What kind of Wainscoting?
Bead board, panel. What thickness? I used 1/4"
thick tongue and groove 4" inches wide. I was able
to purchase floor molding and chair rail that had
a rabbet to accept the wainscoting. I then used
my brad gun to nail to the studs.
Hope this helps.
BTW I bought my material at Home Depot. The wains-
coting came in pine, oak, cheery and poplar. I used
Pine wainscoting (stained) and Oak moldings.
