Yes, 220 ft makes a big difference.

If you need a full 30 amps you need #4 copper or #2 AL.

If you know what you are going to be power and can design around 15 or 20 amp loads then you can going down in size.

Also you can wire up a 240 circuit and a step down transformer at the far end.

That will greatly descress the wire size.
