Truely, I never did think of this so I'm glad someone did. It's important to know this and realize it should there be a need for a quick exit.
Certainly, not to minimize your point ... My 2 doors are always 'in the pocket'. We usually use them when the vacume is running, or when we have guests over and we want to separate the kids from the adults (in quiet.) Really, I can't think of any other 'direct use' in our home. Really, thanks for bringing it up. (Small children should practice opening and closing these doors on their hands and knees.) And by all means, I would NOT install any type of lock, mortised or latch or otherwise, for a pocket door.
