There is some additonal information necessary for a good answer. As the attic has windows, I guess that the attic is soomewhat finished and you want to use it in the summer. In that case, an automatic window fan and a damper in the window at the other end would reduce the temperature. Adding soffit vents and openings to this attic would make it cold in the winter.

If this is an area that is not going to be used, then opening it to outdoor air with soffit and ridge vents would make a way for the heat to dissipate without mechanical air movement.
