vapor barrier?

Posted by Pam E. on August 22nd, 2000 09:24 PM

We have a daylight basement that is above grade on 2 1/2 sides with lots of windows. Our realtor suggested that we finish it before we put it on the market so that we make really big bucks on the house. The basement slab is insulated and has lots of drains under it and footing drains on the outside as well as an elastomeric coating on the outside. We have never had problems with moisture. It is heated. Some magazines and articles say not to use a vapor barrier, some say use one. What is right?
