Using Reflectix Insulation

Posted by David P. Carlon on December 7th, 1997 12:09 PM

I own a 100 yr. old oceanfront victorian home that I recently had to replace the cedar foundation. The new foundation designed by FEMA has break-a-way pannels. I need to insulate the first floor joists and was thinking of using Reflectix instead of traditional fiberglass insulation. Has anyone had experience using this product??(2 layers of aluminum foil separated by 5/16 inch dead air space). For me the benefits seem to be ease of instalation, no airborne fiberglass, more stable in high wind/wet areas. Does this make sense?
