Have cabin (old) in California mountains and we were given "Franklin type" stove, wood burning. Planned on using our propane (no natural gas available at our location) to use for some heat. New cooking stove in kitchen was converted to use propane. We planned on doing this for the fireplace, but people we contacted to plumb this, said that it was against the law to do this - might result in an explosion. We planned on having a "professional" hook it up and take all necessary measures to make sure it was safe . Is this factual or could we pursue this if it is safe?
