I wouldn't even consider using any other glue. This stuff works and why take a risk with anything else? Better to do it right the first time than to have to do it over. The dry time is somewhat variable and depends on humidity, temperature and ventilation. Make sure to stir it up well before using. I don't like the water based stuff, I swear by Weldwood regular old contact cement. You need to wait for it to "glaze" over and not be tacky before sticking the pieces together. Just to make you wait even longer, I always use two coats on each surface. This trick has never failed for me.
