Put two inch masking tape over the cutting area on the formica face.. turn formica upside down . cut from back using a skill saw and a FINE tooth blade. If your cutting out the sink you can drill holes at each corner of the sink pattern put masking tape on the lines and use a fine tooth sabre saw blade and take your time. When your finished take a flat file to the sharp formica edge to trim it down a bit so you don't cut yourself while carrying the top around and putting it into place. Have fun.
