In reply to my flow rates? by DARRELL VYBIRAL on November 7th, 2000 06:43 PM [Go to top of thread]

As a manufacturer of water treatment equipment, both residential and commercial/industrial, I'd like to discuss flow rates vs. pipe size vs. pressure drop, etc. Fixture count as it relates to flow vs. actual demand are two different things. We run into 5,000' homnes with 2" plumbing and two occupant all the time. We also run into 1,500' homes with 1/2" or 3/4" plumbing and six people (?!) all the time. How dow WE come to a reasonable compromise? Undersizing electrical capacity has far more drastic consequences than undersizing water flow capacity. Would love to open discussions. FYI- the water treament industry is very concerned with this issue, and not just from a marketing point of view. We have been selling equipment based on "reasonable" assumptions for years, with VERY little conflicts. Please reply.
