Uncentered Block Piers of Foundation

Posted by Don on June 21st, 2000 09:00 AM

I currently have a house under construction, about 60%
complete. The floor's support beams are not centered on
the cement block piers. The piers (inside piers) are
about 5 single blocks high and the beams run the length
of the block with shems between the block and beam.
The beams rest on the edge of the block, not the
center. The beam does not hang over the edge but is
flush with it. The outer perimeter of the foundation
is a complete cement block wall foundation. First,
should this be a major concern and second how can it
be repaired? The concrete foundation that the cement
blocks are built on is buried about 1 foot. Thanks, Don.
